Smoothing out the peaks and valleys of your real estate business

Tue, Feb 5, 2013

You may have heard it before -- our real estate business being described as a business of peaks and valleys.  It’s the continuous natural cycle of either having too much business coming in all at once, or nothing at all, feeling worried about when and where your next paycheck will be coming. I call it a natural cycle, because it’s the cycle that we all fall into when we don’t have a business system in place.  You start with no prospects, and you begin to do the things that will get you business, whether it be calling your past clients, talking to friends, running ads, calling fsbo’s, hosting open houses, etc.  After a period of time, IF your hard work produces results, your phone starts ringing, and the email inquiries start coming in. Because you haven’t had business in some time, you try to work every single prospect that comes your way, and handle them with the utmost best service you can possibly give them, often performing tasks for free in an effort to wow them, and win their business.  You become so busy servicing everyone who comes your way, that your prospecting efforts get pushed aside in order to have the time to work what you have.  You are so busy in fact, that everything is shoved aside, including time with your family, along with all those reasons you got into this business in the first place.  To top it off, a referral that you would have loved to have last week when you weren’t busy, comes your way now.  And that listing you have that has been sitting on the market doing nothing, is now getting multiple offers!  You are getting pulled in all directions, all at once. You work as hard as physically possible, and with the grace of luck and some skill, you sell some homes.  Many of your other prospects that you worked so hard on however, failed to do anything. Here’s the thing I never saw coming when this happened to me early in my career.  I actually felt a bit of resentment for all the business I now had to deal with, while at the same time feeling guilty about my resentment!  I mean, you feel stress and worry when there’s not enough business, and feel stress and worry when there’s too much on your plate.  Can’t the real estate gods grace me with some balance here?  The bills and invoices I have to pay maintain incredible balance and consistency.  My problem was, I was treating my career as a means to an end, rather than an actual, profitable, consistent business. This is just a piece of what my System is all about.  It’s about flattening out the peaks and valleys, and getting your life back.  It’s about a continuous flow of slightly more incoming leads than you can handle so you’ll always have a trough of potential income waiting to be accessed.  It’s about a proper system that pinpoints exactly when to handle these leads, and how to qualify them before you spend time on them, and it’s about a system that consistently and predictably converts those leads to clients. The system does far more than just this, and its design is simple to follow, and easy to duplicate.  It is also completely scalable.  If you are a one person operation looking to get your business to the next level while creating a steady, predictable, and manageable workload, or a team looking to take your business to the next level of success, my system is tried and true, and proven to work for thousands of Realtors. The purpose of my system is to enable you to run your career as a business, not just as a means to an end.  Applying the system to your business creates a new natural business cycle, one that you now control.  Remove the peaks and valleys from your business, create consistent results, remove your stress and worries, and get your life back. P.S. You can test drive my ideas and systems absolutely free by signing up for Free Weekly Training which includes live weekly webinars, a monthly newsletter and priority invitations to free half day training events. This Free Weekly training will expose you to inexpensive and highly effective methods of lead generation (with no cold calling) -- what I call “Reverse Prospecting”, where qualified prospects actually hunt you down rather than the other way around, and then how to follow these leads through to maximum GCI via proprietary lead conversion and prospect presentation systems. This is the easiest way for you to find out with no risk or obligation what my system is all about and how it can help you profitably grow your real estate business and vastly improve your quality of life.
